I’m Marin, a Product & Interaction Designer
living on planet earth. I believe you should actively design the life that you want. I believe this about life, I believe it about your products.
In previous lives I live abroad and freelanced with 114 clients ranging from tech start-ups to the likes of Facebook, Skype, Canvas, Concur and Oracle. I helped SpeedEtab relaunch their mobile ordering app, I lead The Pacific Institute through a corporate wide rebrand. I designed with Facebook Ad Network's new initiatives. Most recently, I was focused on designing for people and partners at Microsoft's new collaboration product Microsoft Teams. Currently, I’m designing products that help people succeed in their careers at Facebook.
When I’m not in front of a computer I spend my free times far out at sea or high up in the mountains. I'm a Coast Guard certified Captain holding a 100-ton vessel license. I've sailed over 5,000 nautical miles and on windy days you will either find on a sailboat or a kiteboard. I currently travel as much as possible and when home, live aboard my 30’ trawler in Seattle.

Tradelist | June 2017 - September 2018
Lead Designer
Tradelist is a new way to buy, sell and trade. The company is currently tented in beta. I am working along side the founder and a development team at Red Pepper Software to bring the designs to life. My role has includes leading all interaction design, creating all hand-off ready UI design mocks for the desktop product, iOS and Android.

Interaction Designer II, Microsoft Teams
Working as an Interaction Designer on Microsoft Teams - a platform that combines workplace chat, meetings, notes, and attachments as part of Office 365. I saw the product through GA on the People and Presence team, designing the experience of people across the Microsoft Teams product. Currently working on the Extensibility Team enabling 1P and 2P partners to integrate with the Teams platform.

Jogs For Dogs | Apr 2014 – May 2015
Senior Designer
A tech-start up pairing local runners with dog owners. Re-skinned the initial build of the Jogs For Dogs app and online portal. Improvements to dashboard, various website iterations and front-end development for the “Live Run View” which allowed clients to track their dog in real time.

Digital Product Designer
I worked closely with the Director of Marketing to oversee all digital products. Key projects included a company wide global re-brand in 2013, building and maintaining global & international websites, development of a Learning Management System to bring The Pacific Institute’s curriculum online, deployment of a companion Android and iOS app for the curriculum, creation of an Intranet for sales team & facilitators, as well as managing digital assets on a day to day basis.
